Chris Goode

Chris Goode is the founder and CEO of Ruby Jean's Juicery, the Kansas City health and wellness brand he launched in 2015 in honor of his late grandmother, Ruby Jean, who died at 61 from complications of type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Her loss shaped his conviction that health is freedom. His mission ever since has been to close the health gap in underserved communities and food deserts by making clean, nutritious food the easy & accessible choice. Through the Ruby Jean's Foundation, Goode leads community-driven wellness work across the city. That includes the one-acre Ruby Jean's Garden on Kansas City's east side, where neighbors harvest fresh produce in exchange for volunteer sweat equity, and a children's book of the same name that teaches kids about healthy eating. Goode made history as the first Black entrepreneur to open a cold-pressed juice bar inside a Whole Foods Market. Today Ruby Jean's juices are sold in more than 160 Whole Foods locations nationwide, including Los Angeles, Chicago, D.C., Atlanta, and Houston.  In addition, their cold pressed juice is delivered nationwide and on Amazon.

Christopher "Juice Man Chris" Valkov

It all began when his mother was facing serious health challenges. Christopher knew that fresh fruits and vegetables could offer a healthy, holistic approach aside from the constant prescriptions and doctor visits, but he had never truly experimented with juicing before. He realized that if there were ever a time to start, it was now. For weeks and eventually months, he experimented with an abundance of different fruits, vegetables, and ingredient combinations. Over time, he began noticing a drastic improvement in the way his mother felt. Her digestion improved, her energy returned, she experienced less bloating, and most importantly, her blood work improved. That was the moment Christopher realized the impact that better nutrition and consistent healthy choices could have. He thought, “If one person can feel this much better, imagine how many other people could benefit.” Welcome to Electric Elixir!
